INFO
The Native Cats are a Tasmanian duo, two guys that look like they could be distant cousins and very well may be so. Along with
their trusty drum machine, a bass guitar and a PA system (no reverb needed), they treat our ears to some of the finest
subtle rock music ever produced, as poetic as it is catchy.
Existing for only a few years, The Native Cats have been impressing anyone willing to visit their island, both literally
and figuratively. They call to mind the post-punk pioneers of yore with their nonchalant, studied approach to pop and their
disposal of convention. And rather than disrupt the process with noise or hiss, The Native Cats broadcast their treaties
in full hi-fi sound. Think of Rough Trade right as they switched from noise to pop and The Native Cats would fit in nicely.
They self-released their debut album, 'Always On', last year, and White Denim has proudly followed it with their first piece
of vinyl, a two-song 7" single. Recommended alongside your finest single-malt scotch and a yellowed Charles Willeford novel.
