Matt Wand - electronics, laptop, sampler
INFO
Small Rocks is the latest vehicle for electronical outsider and British fuddrucker
Matt Wand, famous for his work in plunderphonic cave-beat pioneers Stock, Hausen and
Walkman. Wand continues his transmogrified descent (or ascent?) from man of flesh to
monster of stone. Melodies bend and break over the tune of ten thousand toilets flushing,
soft fuzz slowly turns your beard of cotton candy to a nest of bees. Absolutely post-
everything, Small Rocks comes full circle and takes tools from the earliest civilizations,
throwing it all in a wheelbarrow and pushing it down Main Street. To attempt to define
Small Rocks is an impossible task, like counting all the stars or washing your sheets.
As soon as a certain sense or aura is developed in the musical output of Small Rocks,
an abrupt change shatters any comfort once had.
Not merely a slave to the granite, Wand is constantly working towards musical misalignment
through Hot Air, his label that puts an intense strain on both the eyes and the ears.
Whether it's the release of a single covered in locked grooves, or a record featuring
bodily secretions as the original sound source, Wand consistently provides the world
with a product worth it's weight in Super Bowl tickets.
Kindly contributing to the 'Closet Full Of Clothes' compilation, Small Rocks provide
further confusion towards the mechanical mess originally showcased on the 'Carbon Dating'
CD on the incredibly Hot Air label. The adventure has just begun!
